Job summary

Southern Cross Care WA is seeking a Team Leader – Community Housing to guide our Housing Officers and administrative support. The role centres on delivering compliant tenancy management under the Community Housing Framework, while ensuring tenant needs are met and relationships with partners are strong.

The position offers hybrid work from our Rivervale central office with optional home days, and a focus on maintaining high tenant satisfaction through effective engagement and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership attributes aligned with our values and ability to inspire others.
• Four or more years’ experience in a similar Community Housing role.
• Working knowledge of the Community Housing Framework.
• Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act.
• Familiarity with tenant and property management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Excellent presentation with a positive, flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Housing Officers and Administrator team.
• Drive a supportive landlord model in decision making and operations.
• Support tenants and connect them with services.
• Foster tenant relationships and a tenant-for-life approach.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure homes are well maintained.
• Chair quarterly Tenant Advisory Committee meetings.
• Manage tenant and community engagement obligations.
• Oversee property inspections every six months.
• Build relationships with Shelter WA, the Department and other providers.
• With the Chief Property Officer, manage the Southern Cross Housing budget.
