Job summary

Mallee Family Care Inc seeks a Community Financial Wellbeing Worker to serve Mildura and Swan Hill. The role supports the Financial Counselling Program, assessing k financial situations and delivering community education to improve financial literacy.

The position is fixed-term, full-time, with salary packaging and professional development. It requires a Diploma in Community Services (or equivalent) and a current driver's licence, plus willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Diploma level qualification in Community Services or equivalent with further studies as required.
• A person currently studying the Diploma may be considered with further studies as required.
• Demonstrated experience in working within community services and with priority client groups.
• A current driver's licence, a willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Financial Counselling Program to provide intake assessments and community education.
• Address individual financial situations and improve financial literacy within communities.
• Facilitate access to financial assistance including utility relief grants and referrals to specialist services.
• Prepare applications for assistance and coordinate access to financial counsellors, legal and other services.
• Engage a variety of stakeholders to enhance money management skills through information sessions and outreach.
