Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking a Creative Community Engagement & Placemaking Specialist to lead initiatives across Gippsland venues and public spaces. You will shape arts, culture and community connections, activating spaces and delivering engaging programs with diverse stakeholders.

The role focuses on collaborative partnerships, project leadership and inclusive, community-led approaches to create vibrant, welcoming places in Latrobe City.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering creative community engagement, cultural programming, placemaking initiatives or public art projects that strengthen community connection.
• Experience coordinating complex projects with diverse stakeholders and partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs from concept through delivery and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Drive audience development and community participation initiatives across Council’s creative venues and cultural programs.
• Build strong partnerships with artists, First Nations communities, schools, businesses and community organisations.
• Champion accessible, inclusive and community-led approaches that encourage participation and strengthen local connection.
• Lead the development and delivery of creative community engagement and placemaking initiatives across Latrobe City.
• Activate public spaces through public art projects, installations, seasonal activations and community events.
• Secure and manage grants, sponsorships and partnerships to support innovative cultural projects.
