Job summary

33 Creative is an Aboriginal owned media and events agency seeking a Community Engagement & Communications Manager. You will develop and deliver engagement initiatives across campaigns, projects and events that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, foster meaningful participation and create positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within community engagement or public affairs.
  • Relevant degree in Social Impact, Business, Communications or Marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Knowledge of culturally safe and inclusive engagement practices.
  • Eligible to work in Australia on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver culturally responsive community and stakeholder engagement across metro, regional, rural and remote locations.
  • Build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with community members, stakeholders, clients and creative teams to ensure lived experience shapes outcomes.
  • Stakeholder mapping and development of engagement plans.
  • Capture and analyse feedback and community insights.
  • Coordinate and develop content across digital, social, media and stakeholder channels.
  • Project management, reporting and evaluation.

The role

A key member of our team, you will develop and deliver impactful engagement and communications initiatives across; campaigns, projects and events that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, foster meaningful participation and create positive, lasting outcomes.


We offer flexibility around the timing of days worked and spread of hours.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and deliver culturally responsive community and stakeholder engagement across metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations.

  • Build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, leaders and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with community members, stakeholders, clients, and creative teams to ensure lived experience and community insights shape outcomes.

  • Stakeholder mapping and development of engagement plans.

  • Capture and analyse feedback and community insights.

  • Coordinate and develop compelling content across digital, social, media and stakeholder channels.

  • Project management, reporting and evaluation.


Your success profile will include:


  • Experience in a similar role

  • Relevant degree in Social Impact, Business, Communications or Marketing

  • Significant experience in community engagement, communications, Indigenous affairs, social impact or public affairs

  • Demonstrated experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations

  • Knowledge of culturally safe and inclusive engagement practices

  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander governance structures, community protocols and ways of working

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment

  • Outstanding written, verbal and digital communication skills

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Eligibility to work in Australia on a permanent basis

  • Ability to work outside of standard hours and travel as required
