Job summary

Mission Australia in Darwin is seeking a Community Development Manager to lead community engagement, tenant programs and partnerships that empower residents and drive positive social outcomes across Mission Australia Housing communities. You will work closely with residents, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver regional development plans, support resident-led initiatives and secure funding.

A relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in community development or housing are

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Development or a related field is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in community development, housing or community services.
• Strategic thinking and ability to turn ideas into impactful programs.
• Strong background in community engagement, consultation and capacity building.
• Experience building strategic partnerships across community, government and service sectors.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver regional community development plans and programs that strengthen communities, build capacity and respond to local needs.
• Empower residents through engagement initiatives, tenant committees, leadership development opportunities and community-led projects.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community organisations, service providers, government agencies and other key stakeholders to enhance outcomes for residents.
• Identify, secure and manage grant funding, sponsorship and partnership opportunities to support community initiatives and organisational objectives.
• Measure, evaluate and report on community development activities, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.
• Collaborate with Housing and Asset Management teams to deliver an integrated service model that improves tenant satisfaction, community wellbeing and neighbourhood outcomes.
