Banana Shire Council is seeking a Compliance Officer to enforce Local Laws and the Animal Management Act across the Shire. You will conduct investigations, respond to inquiries, issue notices, and support community safety initiatives.

Role requires a Queensland C class licence, Blue Card, and Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent). Expect inspections, on‑call duties, reporting, and collaboration with agencies and residents.

Formación

• Must hold Queensland C class manual driver’s licence (or equivalent)
• Blue Card – Working with Children Check
• Certificate IV in Government Investigations or relevant equivalent qualification / experience (or a commitment to obtain).

Responsabilidades

• Investigate and enforce the provisions of Council Local Laws and Animal Management Act 2008.
• Provide accurate, timely information and advice on compliance issues to customers.
• Respond to customer service requests and complaints with effective investigation, questioning and negotiation to achieve lawful outcomes.
• Draft, issue and enforce statutory notices and gather evidence for lawful proceedings.
• Participate in on-call roster and assist with record-keeping and note-taking.
• Provide public education on relevant legislation and compliance expectations.
• Undertake inspections and routine compliance tasks as required.
• Assist in maintaining impoundment facilities and compliance registers.
• Contribute to reports, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
