Job summary

Surf Life Saving Queensland is seeking a Community Awareness Program Coordinator to lead education initiatives across the Gold Coast. You will build partnerships with schools, volunteers, and community groups, oversee program delivery, and ensure compliance with safety and safeguarding standards.

The role requires strong presentation and organisational skills, experience with diverse groups, and the ability to train casual staff.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain before start.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience coordinating programs, projects, events, or community initiatives.
• Strong administration and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to train and motivate casual staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience within surf lifesaving, education, emergency services, community engagement, youth programs, or public safety initiatives.
• Knowledge of community education, water safety, or public awareness programs.
• Current Bronze Medallion and Surf Life Saving membership or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Availability to be on call to deliver programs in summer peak times and occasional after hours work.
