Job summary

Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) invites applications for a Community Awareness Program Coordinator to lead education initiatives across the Brisbane region. This role focuses on delivering safety programs, building partnerships with schools and community groups, and guiding presenters for quality delivery.

Based in Brisbane with hybrid options, you will monitor outcomes, ensure compliance, and help expand funding and program opportunities while embodying SLSQ values and commitment to public

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience engaging with diverse community groups and stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Experience coordinating programs, projects, events, or community-based initiatives
• Strong administration and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage, train, and motivate casual staff to deliver programs effectively
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience within surf lifesaving, education, emergency services, community engagement, youth programs, or public safety initiatives
• Knowledge of community education, water safety, or public awareness programs
• Current Bronze Medallion and Surf Life Saving membership or the ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe
• Availability to be on call to deliver programs in summer peak times
