Job summary

Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is seeking a proactive Community Awareness Program Coordinator to lead the delivery of public safety education across Brisbane. You will partner with schools, volunteers, and community groups to drive impact and ensure high-quality program delivery.

The role requires strong presentation, stakeholder management, and program coordination skills, with flexible, hybrid work options and a focus on safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience coordinating programs, projects, events, or community-based initiatives.
• Strong administration and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage, train, and motivate casual staff to deliver programs effectively.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience within surf lifesaving, education, emergency services, community engagement, youth programs, or public safety initiatives.
• Knowledge of community education, water safety, or public awareness programs.
• Current Bronze Medallion and Surf Life Saving membership or the ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe (and maintain ongoing proficiency).
• Availability to be on call to deliver programs in summer peak times.
