Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking an experienced Comms Tech to support the Sandvik AutoMine system at the Cowal Gold Mine in NSW. The role requires an Electrical or Auto Electrical trade background and will operate on a FIFO 14/14 roster.

You will assist with commissioning, operation and optimisation of AutoMine, perform fault finding on autonomous equipment, and collaborate with operations, maintenance and OEM representatives to ensure safe, reliable underground performance.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Electrical Trade Qualification or Auto Electrician Qualification.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently in a FIFO environment.
• Strong safety focus and communication skills.
• Experience on Sandvik AutoMine or autonomous mining systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine systems.
• Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on Sandvik autonomous equipment.
• Troubleshoot automation hardware, sensors, networks, and control systems.
• Assist with system upgrades, software updates, and configuration changes.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance and OEM representatives.

FIFO 14/14 Day Shift | Cowal Gold Mine | Redpath Mining

Redpath Mining is currently seeking an experienced Comms Tech to work on our Sandvik AutoMine System with an Electrical or Auto Electrical trade background to support autonomous underground mining operations at the Cowal Gold Mine.

This role is offered on a FIFO 14 days on / 14 days off roster, providing an excellent work-life balance while working on a leading autonomous gold mining project.

About the Role

You will be responsible for supporting the commissioning, operation, and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine systems, ensuring safe and efficient autonomous equipment performance underground.

Responsibilities

Key Duties

• Support day-to-day operation and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine systems
• Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on Sandvik autonomous equipment
• Troubleshoot automation hardware, sensors, networks, and control systems
• Assist with system upgrades, software updates, and configuration changes
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, and OEM representatives
• Promote and maintain high safety and operational standards onsite

Skills & Experience

• Australian recognised Electrical Trade Qualification or Auto Electrician Qualification
• Proven experience with Sandvik AutoMine
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently in a FIFO environment
• Strong safety focus and communication skills

Qualifications

• OEM or AutoMine specialist background
• Exposure to PLCs, automation, or networked systems
