Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking a Communications & Events Officer to join our team. You will create engaging content for digital and traditional channels, capture visuals for local programs, and support media monitoring and event coordination.

You will publish content across websites, social media and eNews, while ensuring accuracy and brand alignment with our Proud Values. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications or equivalent work experience in communications or related field.
• Proven experience using a wide range of communications tools including social media.
• Experience in digital communications and basic principles of communications.

Responsibilities

• Create, write and publish engaging content across Council’s websites, eNews, social media and other channels.
• Capture photography and video across the Local Government Area to promote activities and initiatives.
• Prepare communications materials including brochures, signage, reports and media content.
• Monitor social media activity and maintain up-to-date website information.
• Assist with planning, coordinating and promoting Council events.
