NSW Tollway Ombudsman is seeking a Communications and Engagement Officer on a part-time 0.6 FTE basis with hybrid working arrangements. You will shape communications and engagement from the ground up, coordinating stakeholders, events and publications in a small, collaborative team.

The NSW Tollway Ombudsman is Australia’s newest independent Ombudsman scheme. We exist to resolve disputes and share insights into systemic issues to support toll entities strengthen consumer practices. We provide a free, fair and impartial avenue for dispute resolution, working with consumers, toll entities and industry stakeholders to achieve practical outcomes and strengthen confidence in the tolling sector.

As we continue to build our organisation, we are seeking a highly capable and passionate Communications and Engagement Officer to play a hands-on role in shaping our approach to communications and engagement from the ground up.
The position operates in a small and collaborative environment and requires a proactive, organised and relationship-focused professional who can manage a diverse range of communications and engagement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate stakeholder and member engagement activities across the organisation.
Plan and deliver stakeholder events, forums, workshops and engagement activities.
Develop, edit and coordinate internal and external communications plans and materials.
Draft newsletters, stakeholder updates, website content, presentations, factsheets and other collateral.
Build and maintain productive relationships with members, toll entities, government agencies and other stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of annual reports, performance reports and other organisational publications.
You are an organised and adaptive professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
You bring:
Demonstrated experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, member services, events or related roles.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
Experience coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, events or consultations.
Experience supporting reports, publications and organisational communications.
Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capability.
