Job summary

Randstad partners with a well known EPC to hire a Commissioning Manager based in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs depot. You will lead a field testing team, oversee scheduling, resource allocation and timesheets, while developing and maintaining ITP documentation for pre- and commissioning tests.

You will mentor the team in commissioning electrical infrastructure, with emphasis on safety, quality management, and continuous improvement. Local work with stable hours is offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent gained through industry experience and training.
• Direct experience leading technical field teams.
• Experience commissioning power system projects.
• Experience testing Power System Primary and Secondary Plant.
• Experience implementing commissioning and quality management systems.
• Strong time management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Role: Commissioning Manager Location: Northern Suburbs, Melbourne (3047) Industry: Energy, Infrastructure, Electrical Engineering I am partnering with a well known EPC to hire a Commissioning Manager based out of the Northern Suburbs depot. This position will have about 20 HV testers reporting into leads and then into this role (Commissioning Manager).

About The Role: The Commissioning Manager is responsible for directly managing and leading the Field Testing team by overseeing the scheduling of works, allocating resources, approving timesheets, managing the on-call roster, providing technical advice, promoting a safety-first and team culture and ensuring the Testing Team has all required tools, resources and processes in place to perform their works safely and efficiently. This includes being responsible for developing documentation for all pre-commissioning and commissioning tests in a consistent manner via a maintained ITP library.

Reviewing and approving cost estimates for commissioning activities, commissioning schedules, ITPs and ITP Registers, staging and cut-over plans etc. Additionally, the Commissioning Manager will provide mentorship, training and leadership to the wider team with respect to the technical aspects of commissioning electrical infrastructure, and the quality documentation systems used to support this.

Experience:

Engineering degree or similar knowledge gained through industry experience and training Previous experience in directly managing technical field teams Previous experience in the commissioning of power system projects
