Job summary

Panthers Penrith Leagues Club is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join Kelly's Kitchen, focusing on prep, cooking and presentation in a busy multi‑outlet kitchen.

You'll work under the Outlet Chef, maintain high food safety standards, follow recipes and FIFO, and contribute to the quality dining experiences Panthers is known for.

Two years' post-apprenticeship experience and a Cert III in Commercial Cookery are required, along with strong communication and team spirit.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen.
• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
• A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for hospitality and growth with Panthers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present quality dishes in a busy, multi-outlet kitchen.
• Complete daily preparation for your allocated section within Kelly's Kitchen.
• Use a range of cooking equipment and techniques, including grills, pans, fryers and cold larder.
• Prepare mise en place under the direction of the Outlet Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented kitchen throughout and after service.
• Check food deliveries and store products safely per FIFO.
• Complete daily cleaning checklists to maintain a safe workplace.

About The Opportunity

As a Commis Chef, you'll play an important role in the fast-paced Kelly's Kitchen team, preparing and presenting quality dishes while maintaining high food safety and presentation standards.

Reporting to the Outlet Sous Chef, you'll work alongside an energetic and supportive team to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You'll bring passion, initiative and attention to detail, contributing to the quality dining experiences Panthers is known for.

As Commis Chef, You Will

• Prepare, cook and present quality dishes in a busy, multi-outlet kitchen
• Complete daily preparation for your allocated section within Kelly's Kitchen
• Use a range of cooking equipment and techniques, including grills, pans, fryers and cold larder preparation
• Prepare mise en place under the direction of the Outlet Chef
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented kitchen throughout and following each service
• Check food deliveries and ensure products are stored safely in accordance with FIFO procedures
• Complete daily cleaning checklists to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace

About You

• You have a minimum of two years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment
• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a desire to grow your career with Panthers
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow standard recipes and food presentation guidelines
• The ability to remain calm, work effectively under pressure and solve problems
• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work across a variety of shifts including mornings, nights and weekends
