Job summary

Panthers Penrith Leagues Club is seeking a Commis Chef to join Kelly's Kitchen in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare and present quality dishes, ensuring high food safety and presentation standards under the Outlet Chef’s guidance.

The ideal candidate has at least two years post-apprenticeship experience in a busy kitchen, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and is passionate about hospitality and team collaboration. Availability across mornings, nights and weekends is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present quality dishes in a busy, multi-outlet kitchen.
• Complete daily preparation for your allocated section within Kelly's Kitchen.
• Use a range of cooking equipment and techniques, including grills, pans, fryers and cold larder preparation.
• Prepare mise en place under direction of the Outlet Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented kitchen throughout and after service.

About The Opportunity

As a Commis Chef, you'll play an important role in the fast-paced Kelly's Kitchen team, preparing and presenting quality dishes while maintaining high food safety and presentation standards.

Reporting to the Outlet Sous Chef, you'll work alongside an energetic and supportive team to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You'll bring passion, initiative and attention to detail, contributing to the quality dining experiences Panthers is known for.

As Commis Chef, You Will

• Prepare, cook and present quality dishes in a busy, multi-outlet kitchen
• Complete daily preparation for your allocated section within Kelly's Kitchen
• Use a range of cooking equipment and techniques, including grills, pans, fryers and cold larder preparation
• Prepare mise en place under the direction of the Outlet Chef
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented kitchen throughout and following each service
• Check food deliveries and ensure products are stored safely in accordance with FIFO procedures
• Complete daily cleaning checklists to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace

About You

• You have a minimum of two years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment
• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a desire to grow your career with Panthers
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow standard recipes and food presentation guidelines
• The ability to remain calm, work effectively under pressure and solve problems
• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work across a variety of shifts including mornings, nights and weekends
