Job summary

Range Brewing, a Brisbane-based group renowned for quality beer and hospitality, is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join Neighbour at Gasworks Plaza. This permanent part-time role is 30 hours per week across four consecutive days, with a roster set to cover seven days.

You will work under the Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager to develop your skills in a busy kitchen, contributing to mise en place, service, and daily hygiene. Start date mid-to-late August 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred (formal training or on-the-job).
• Eagerness to learn and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Ability to work under pressure and follow directions; good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Reliable, punctual and a strong team contributor.
• Current Food Safety certificate or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Available across a rotating roster, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mise en place and prep for all sections ahead of service.
• Work the line during service under the direction of the Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager.
• Prepare ingredients to recipe and quality standards set by the kitchen leadership team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your section throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries correctly, including date labelling and rotation.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and end-of-shift procedures to the required standard.
• Support senior kitchen staff with tasks as directed.
• Actively learn and develop your skills across all areas of the kitchen.
• Other duties as assigned.
