Job summary

Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton is seeking a Commis Chef to join a busy kitchen team. The role supports breakfast, lunch and dinner service, and assists with menu items while ensuring quality and consistency across dishes.

You will help manage portions, maintain kitchen hygiene and work with other departments to satisfy guest dietary needs. This is a hands-on role in a premier hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes and portion controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and special menus.
• Maintain high quality, consistent taste, presentation and texture.
• Monitor inventory and requisition items as needed.
• Keep kitchen clean and compliant with safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with banquet/catering to meet dietary requirements.
• Quality check of food freshness and appearance.
