Job summary

Delaware North Australia & New Zealand is hiring casual Commis Chefs to join our team on-site at the Adelaide Airport. You will collaborate with senior chefs to prepare dishes and maintain high standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

You’ll gain exposure to a vibrant hospitality environment with opportunities for training, travel within our global network, and development within a supportive team. Prior Commis experience and a Level 3 Cookery certificate are preferred, with shifts available across

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required.
• Solid background in kitchen operations.
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding.
• A passion for food and creative flair.
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards.
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation.
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, meeting Food Safety standards including temperature and quality checks.

What will you do?

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination

More About You

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred
• Solid background in kitchen operations
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding
• A passion for food and creative flair
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs
