Job summary

Agrifutures is seeking a commercially minded Cost Controller to support a range of major projects in Australia. The role sits at the intersection of finance and operations, driving cost management, forecasting and reporting for project stakeholders.

You will work closely with Project Managers, influence decisions, and help maximize financial performance across a portfolio of projects in a fast-paced environment. The role offers a CBD location with potential flexibility after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience in project accounting or cost control roles.
• Strong forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
• Experience supporting large-scale projects in infrastructure or capital environments.
• Knowledge of IFRS 15 is desirable.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to explain outcomes to non-finance.
• High attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Experience in deadline-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly accruals, forecasting and month-end reporting.
• Prepare variance analysis with commentary on project performance.
• Partner with Project Managers to review costs, forecasts and outcomes.
• Maintain project cost reports and support financial governance.
• Assist with project funding requests and approvals.
• Support project controls activities including forecasting and reviews.
• Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders across projects.
• Maintain project registers and data integrity across financial systems.
• Support project close-out activities and capitalization processes.
• Provide accurate, timely financial information for operational decisions.
