Job summary

Randstad Qualififed Finance partners with an expanding Australian construction business to recruit a commercial, hands-on Finance Manager. You will lead a four-person accounts team, oversee end-to-end financial accuracy, and drive robust governance across active jobs.

The role focuses on invoicing, project accounting, WIP management, and proactive cash flow control, with responsibilities spanning general ledger governance, external audit support, and monthly executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within construction, building, property development, or project-based environments.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and allocating responsibilities across an operational finance team.
• Strong command of project accounting principles, including progress billings, variation tracking, WIP analysis, and job reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of four accounts personnel across both the fit-out and major construction divisions.
• Oversee invoicing and revenue capture for milestones, variations, progress claims, and billable works.
• Perform project accounting with WIP, unbilled revenue, and final job closeouts.
• Direct Accounts Receivable, monitor aged debtors, and ensure cash flow visibility for leadership.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages detailing gross margins, job profitability, working capital, and operating expenditure.
