Job summary

Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Commercial Manager, Financial Services to lead the end-to-end portfolio across insurance, multi-currency pricing and DCC, delivering strategic partnerships and commercial outcomes across Jetstar markets.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial management or product management with P&L accountability.
• Experience managing strategic supplier or partner relationships, including negotiations and contract management.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, payments, or banking.
• Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive revenue growth.
• Experience launching new products, categories or initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyse financial, customer and operational data.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing across complex organisations.
• Strong project delivery skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• People leadership or coaching experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or related discipline (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Shape the Financial Services strategy across the Jetstar Group and steer product priorities and investments.
• Own and deliver the Financial Services roadmap from business case to launch and post-implementation review.
• Manage portfolio performance including revenue, budget and forecast delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve conversion, attach rates, commissions and profitability.
• Build business cases and lead commercial reviews for insurance, payments and platform providers.
• Drive delivery across Digital, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams.
• Oversee regulatory, compliance and governance requirements across the portfolio.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Qantas Group partners.
• Provide portfolio reporting, performance analysis and recommendations to senior leaders.
• Lead, coach and develop a Commercial Specialist and broader team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager, Financial Services to join our Commercial Product Partnerships team.

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Product Partnerships, this role will lead Jetstar's Financial Services portfolio across the customer journey and all Jetstar markets. The portfolio includes travel insurance, multi-currency pricing and dynamic currency conversion (MCP-DCC), as well as future financial services growth opportunities.

With P&L accountability for the portfolio within Commercial Product Partnerships, you'll be responsible for developing strategy, delivering commercial outcomes, managing key partnerships and ensuring compliance across a highly regulated environment. Working across Jetstar and the broader Qantas Group, you'll help shape the future of financial services products that enhance the customer experience while driving sustainable revenue growth.

The core responsibilities of this role are:

• Help shape the Financial Services strategy across the Jetstar Group, bringing commercial direction to product priorities, partner model and investment sequencing
• Own and deliver the Financial Services roadmap from business case development through to launch and post-implementation review
• Manage the performance of the portfolio, including revenue, budget and forecast delivery
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve conversion, attach rates, commission structures and overall portfolio profitability
• Build business cases and lead commercial reviews for insurance, payments and platform providers
• Drive delivery across Digital, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams
• Manage regulatory, compliance and governance requirements across the portfolio
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Qantas Group partners and financial services providers
• Oversee portfolio reporting, performance analysis and commercial recommendations for senior leaders
• Lead, coach and develop a Commercial Specialist while building capability across the broader team

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Significant experience in commercial management, product management or partnership management roles with demonstrated P&L accountability
• Experience managing strategic supplier or partner relationships, including commercial negotiations and contract management
• Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, payments, banking or similar environments
• Proven capability developing and executing commercial strategies that deliver measurable revenue growth
• Experience launching new products, categories or commercial initiatives from concept through to implementation
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse financial, customer and operational data to drive decision-making
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work across complex organisational structures
• Strong project delivery skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• People leadership or coaching experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline (desirable)

Experience within travel, aviation, e-commerce, payments, insurance or ancillary revenue businesses will be highly regarded.
