Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial activities for Australia’s largest defence infrastructure program at Osborne, SA. You’ll oversee budgeting, risk, and contractual performance while building relationships with clients and supply chains in a complex, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or working towards.
• 10+ years’ post-graduate experience in commercial within the construction industry.
• Degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance NV1.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance, margin and risk management.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, cost control and reporting.
• Manage commercial risk, change, claims, disputes and contract compliance.
• Build strong client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery.

About you

• Attained or working towards obtaining MRICS.
• Minimum 10 years’ post graduate experience in commercial within the construction industry.
• Construction Management, Building, Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Microsoft software especially Excel.
• Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
