Park Brown International is representing a leading global crypto exchange in the appointment of a Commercial Director for Australia. The brief is to build and accelerate the Australian commercial business, not simply maintain an existing operation.

We are exclusively representing a leading global crypto exchange on the appointment of a Commercial Director for Australia.
The brief is straightforward: build and accelerate the Australian commercial business.
This is not a role focused on maintaining an established operation. The successful candidate will be expected to assess the market, determine where the greatest opportunities sit and turn those opportunities into measurable commercial growth.
That could mean opening new acquisition channels, developing strategic partnerships, increasing trading activity, expanding into new customer segments or identifying opportunities to strengthen the local product proposition.
The role combines market strategy, business development, distribution and hands‑on execution. You will have the backing of a global platform, but significant ownership of what happens in Australia.
You will effectively own the commercial agenda for the Australian market.
Your remit will include:
A key part of the role will be balancing commercial speed with the realities of operating within a regulated Australian market.
The background matters considerably for this appointment. We are looking for someone who has spent their career in a trading-led, transaction‑driven environment, rather than traditional corporate financial services.
Exchanges, brokers, trading platforms and digital asset businesses.
Online brokers, FX platforms and leveraged trading businesses.
Derivatives platforms, electronic markets, brokerage and other transaction‑led financial markets businesses.
Businesses where customer acquisition, trading activity, transaction volumes and revenue are central commercial metrics.
Experience operating within a regulated environment is essential.
Traditional banking backgrounds are unlikely to translate well to this mandate. The environment requires someone accustomed to moving quickly, testing commercial opportunities, owning outcomes and operating close to the customer and trading activity.
The strongest candidates are likely to bring a combination of:
We would expect this person to be strategic enough to define the plan but commercial and hands‑on enough to execute it themselves.
