Job summary

LexisNexis is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel – Pacific to provide practical legal advice across Australia and New Zealand. You will negotiate contracts, assess commercial risk, and support AI-enabled product initiatives with autonomy, working closely with business stakeholders.

The role offers flexible working or full remote arrangements across Australia or New Zealand, with exposure to technology, IP, competition and consumer law in a dynamic, transforming environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ PQE and admission to practice in Australia or New Zealand with a current practicing certificate or eligibility.
• Strong commercial contracting experience, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Experience in a top-tier firm or large corporate/in-house legal team.
• Ability to manage matters independently with sound judgement.
• Experience using generative AI tools in legal work to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice balancing risk and business goals.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across AU and NZ.
• Support new products and technology initiatives, including AI-enabled solutions.
• Collaborate with Pacific and international legal teams.
