Job summary

The Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Commercial & Contracts Lead to drive and support all commercial and contractual outcomes across engineering, fabrication, construction and infrastructure projects. The role spans contract development, variations, claims, project revenue and margin monitoring, tender submissions, and commercial reporting.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years’ experience in Commercial and/or Contract Administration.
• Experience supporting project budgets, contract documentation, variations, claims and tender submissions.
• Understanding of construction project delivery, subcontractors and project cost control.
• Exposure to Australian Standard contracts or bespoke construction contracts is desirable.
• Experience in Defence, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects will be highly regarded.
• Strong construction project administration experience and readiness to progress into commercial management.

Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Commercial & Contracts Lead.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to drive and support all Commercial and Contractual outcomes for Shadbolt Group’s Engineering, Fabrication, Construction and Infrastructure Projects.

Working across all levels of the Business, the role is responsible for Contract Development and Administration, Variations and Claims, Project Revenue, Cost and Margin Monitoring, Tender Submissions, Legal Direction (supported by an external specialist where necessary) and Commercial Reporting.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a Project/Commercially-minded Professional with Construction Industry experience to fully utilise their Commercial Management capability whilst meaningfully contributing to Business and Project Performance, Cost Control and Risk Management.

To be successful, you will have

• Relevant qualifications in Legal, Commerce, Business, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in Commercial and/or Contract Administration, or a similar role within construction, engineering, fabrication or infrastructure.
• Experience supporting project budgets, contract documentation, variations, claims and tender submissions.
• An understanding of construction project delivery, subcontractors and project cost control.
• Exposure to Australian Standard contracts or bespoke construction contracts is desirable.
• Experience in Defence, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects will be highly regarded.
• Candidates with strong construction project administration experience who are ready to progress into a commercial management role will also be considered.
