Job summary

Sony is seeking a proactive Commercial Analyst to join our Home Entertainment finance team in Australia. You will manage the business unit budget and forecasting, review data with managers, and generate insights to improve profitability and proposals.

You’ll partner with stakeholders at all levels, apply advanced Excel and PowerPoint, and contribute to analyses used to shape regional and HQ decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance/Accounting/Commerce or related field.
• Demonstrated business partnering experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, while comfortable working independently.
• High attention to detail, accountability and initiative.
• Ability to maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards tasks and successfully operate in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment.
• Sales company experience highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic review meetings with various business unit managers, including generating and analysing data, and recommending opportunities for improvement.
• Measure and analyse business unit performance against set KPIs.
• Conduct data analysis used to formulate reports that evaluate commercial viability and provide recommendations for business proposals.
• Provide historical / trend analysis and modelling for business forecasts and proposals.
• Respond to finance related queries from assigned business units.
• Respond to profitability analysis queries for Region/HQ as required.

We currently have an opportunity for a proactive and results driven Commercial Analyst with demonstrated business partnering ability to join our team. In this role you’ll sit alongside our Home Entertainment business unit – working with the team directly to conduct business analysis through formulating reports, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations based on data analysis. We’re looking for someone who has a strong analytical background, with the confidence & ability to communicate with all levels of the business, both locally and internationally.
