Job summary

CBC Fremantle, a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition for boys in Years 7-12, seeks a College Counsellor to support social, emotional and mental health wellbeing.

Working within the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing framework, the Counsellor provides confidential, evidence-informed counselling and early intervention, strengthening students' resilience and relationships while coordinating with College Psychologists and families to ensure timely support.

Qualifications

• Collaborates with College Psychologists, Heads of House, Deputy Principal – Pastoral Care, families and external professionals.

• Strengthen students' resilience, emotional regulation and self-awareness.
• Work closely with the pastoral care team to ensure timely and coordinated support.

Position Details

CBC Fremantle is a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition for boys in Years 7-12. The College Counsellor plays an important role in supporting the social, emotional and mental health wellbeing of students at CBC Fremantle. Working within the College's Pastoral Care and Wellbeing framework, the College Counsellor provides professional, confidential and evidence-informed counselling, early intervention and wellbeing support to students experiencing personal, social, emotional, behavioural, family or school-related challenges.

The position seeks to strengthen students' resilience, emotional regulation, positive relationships, self-awareness and capacity to manage challenges, enabling them to engage positively in their education and personal development.

As a member of the College's broader Pastoral Care team, the Counsellor works collaboratively with College Psychologists, Heads of House, the Deputy Principal – Pastoral Care, families and external professionals to ensure students receive appropriate, timely and coordinated support.
