The College is governed by Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) and provides a wonderfully rich and liberating education that fosters student spirituality and promotes the values of inclusivity, justice and solidarity. The College is driven by staff who are committed to making a difference in the education of boys.

The Principal, Mark Bonnici, invites applications for the position of College Counsellor. The College Counsellor (Psychologist/Social Worker) has responsibility for the provision of professional counselling, consultation and referral for students and their families in a manner which is consistent with the Charter for Edmund Rice Schools. In so doing, the College Counsellor demonstrates support for Catholic philosophy and values and promotes sound practices especially as they relate to the support of staff, students and their families. The College Counsellor reports to the Director of Pastoral Care, the College Principal and Deputy Principal, and is an integral member of the Pastoral Care team.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with staff, students and families to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment where every member of the College community feels welcomed, valued and supported. Through strong relationships, effective communication and a student-centered approach, the College Counsellor will contribute to a culture of wellbeing that promotes belonging, resilience and positive engagement. The successful applicant will complement and strengthen an already highly professional, caring and vibrant Pastoral Care team that is deeply committed to the holistic development and wellbeing of every young person.

The College Counsellor is required to hold a current Working with Children Check. Counsellors who are qualified Psychologists must maintain current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA and fulfil all continuing professional development requirements. Counsellors who are qualified social workers must maintain eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Applicants will be subject to Employment Screening as required by the Child Protection Act. A commitment to the ethos of the Catholic School is essential. For a copy of the Position Description, visitPositions Vacant - St Edward's College
