Job summary

SB Recruitment is seeking a Collections Officer for a six-month assignment with a leading specialist lender operating across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney with a hybrid work model, you will manage a portfolio of overdue consumer mortgage accounts and collaborate with the Collections Manager to drive performance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months of collections experience in financial services, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a customer-first mindset.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Proactively contacting customers to recover outstanding debts while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
• Negotiating and establishing sustainable payment arrangements tailored to individual customer circumstances.
• Monitoring and maintaining ongoing payment plans to ensure compliance.
• Liaising with various internal stakeholders to solve customer queries.

The Opportunity…

Due to continued growth, a six month assignment has become available for a Collections Officer to join their collaborative and high-performing team. Reporting to the Collections Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing a portfolio of overdue consumer mortgage accounts while contributing to the success of the broader collections function.
