Bayside City Council is seeking a Coastal Planning and Project Officer to lead coastal strategies and deliver initiatives that enhance Bayside's coast and foreshore. The role sits in Open Space and Recreation, reporting to the Coordinator Open Space and Environment, with focus on resilience, accessibility and liveability.

Employment Status:Fixed-term (12 months).
Days & Hours of Work: 3 days, totaling22.8 hours per week.
Competitive Salary: Band 6 -$105,907.09pro-rata+ 12% superannuation.
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home.

The Coastal Planning and Project Officer is responsible for the planning and delivery of strategic coastal projects, policies, and initiatives that support the resilience and accessibility of Bayside's coast and foreshore. The role balances the diverse needs of residents and visitors who value the foreshore as a key contributor to Bayside's liveability, recreation, and natural environment.
This role sits in the Open Space and Recreation Department, City Services Division and reports directly to Coordinator Open Space and Environment.
You will be responsible for:
Coastal strategies, policies and plans are developed, reviewed and implemented in alignment with relevant legislation, Council priorities and best practice coastal management principles.
Strategic coastal projects and initiatives are delivered effectively, achieving agreed scope, time, budget, quality and stakeholder outcomes.
