Job summary

Agilitus is seeking a Coastal Engineer to join our Newcastle team, delivering coastal and maritime infrastructure across NSW and Australia. The role blends design, site-based engineering and client engagement, within a Ports & Marine team working on revetments, seawalls and harbour structures.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to produce port design studies, site investigations, dredging and coastal protection analyses, while contributing to proposals and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience in coastal or maritime projects or a strong desire to specialise.
  • Postgraduate study in coastal engineering, oceanography or marine science.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concept and detailed designs for coastal and maritime infrastructure such as seawalls, revetments, breakwaters, sheet pile walls, wharves, jetties and boat ramps.
  • Prepare, check and review engineering calculations and supporting technical documentation including design reports, technical memoranda, feasibility studies and Basis of Design documents.
  • Interpret metocean and wave modelling outputs and convert them into design parameters and loading cases.
  • Contribute to technical specifications, quantities and construction documentation packages.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Coastal Engineer to join our Newcastle team. We are seeking an engineer with a strong interest or background in coastal and maritime infrastructure to contribute to the delivery of port, harbour and coastal projects across NSW and Australia.

Our project portfolio includes revetments, seawalls, breakwaters, sheet piling, wharves, jetties, boat ramps and navigation structures. The role combines technical design, site-based engineering and involvement in proposals and client engagement.

Our Ports & Marine team mixes structural engineers, coastal engineers, and material durability experts who are enthusiastic about working close to the water. They work together to provide a full suite of Marine Engineering services including port planning, marine site investigations, port design studies, dredging and reclamation, coastal protection, maritime structures design, dynamic mooring analysis, scour assessment and protection, and physical and numerical modelling.
