Job summary

Agilitus is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join our Newcastle team, supporting and expanding engineering capabilities across resources and industrial sectors. You’ll build and lead local ground engineering teams and collaborate with remote offices as required.

You’ll leverage your civil/geotechnical background to drive project outcomes, ensure client satisfaction, and implement systems to meet statutory requirements while innovating service delivery.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering, Geology/ Geotechnical or Earth Science Degree.
• High level of experience and ability in use and application of engineering design / geological interpretation systems and software.
• Knowledge of applicable design standards and industry guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and motivate local Ground Engineering teams in your local and remote offices (as required) to provide exceptional project outcomes.
• Manage business performance to ensure high client satisfaction and to ensure employees are adequately motivated and appropriately rewarded for their contribution to the business.
• Developing systems, tools, and procedures to ensure engineering projects comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and enhance the value of services we provide to clients through innovation and industry insight.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join our Newcastle team. As our client portfolio grows across the resources, energy and industrial sectors, this position will help support and expand our engineering and design capabilities. This a great opportunity for a talented and passionate Engineer to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Located in the Hunter Mall Chambers opposite Queens Wharf, our Newcastle office boasts spectacular views of the Newcastle Harbour. Our local multidisciplinary teams are supporting our East Coast clients through a range of local projects, showcasing our expansion into the Hunter region. Our Newcastle team also integrates and supports the broader works in the West by collaborating with our Perth and Mandurah teams.

Our ground engineering team is a mix of geotechnical and geological specialists who collaboratively plan and execute ground investigations, slope stability assessments, nearshore and marine geotechnics, assessment of tunnels and retaining structures, Tailing Storage Facilities, ground improvement and other specialised services.
