Job summary

Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Mental Health Services team across Hervey Bay and Maryborough within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. You will provide specialist psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and Hospital-in-the-Home services while contributing to clinical leadership, education and service development.

There is also an exciting opportunity to establish a private practice locally, with support available to assist with rooms,

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain specialist registration.
• Broad contemporary psychiatric experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary patient care.
• Teaching, supervision and service development interest.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and Hospital-in-the-Home services.
• Work across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals.
• Provide specialist psychiatric advice and consultation.
• Provide professional leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health environment.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and community teams.
• Support high-quality, patient-centred mental health services.
• Provide education, training and supervision to junior medical staff.
• Contribute to professional development of the broader healthcare team.
• Participate in service improvement, clinical governance and ongoing development of Mental Health Services.
