Job summary

Mediix is recruiting Consultant Psychiatrists for two regional hospitals in the Wide Bay region, Hervey Bay and Maryborough. The role offers a total remuneration package up to AUD 564,548 p.a., with a base salary of AUD 193,191 – 282,912 p.a. and 12.75% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) for appointments.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Specialist Psychiatrist with AHPRA.
• Australian working rights, or eligible for employer-sponsored visa.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert psychiatric care to patients across inpatient, outpatient and hospital-in-the-home services.

Consultant Psychiatrist | Hervey Bay & Maryborough | Total remuneration package up to AUD $564,548 p.a.

We are currently hiring on behalf of a well-established Queensland public Hospital and Health Service to recruit Consultant Psychiatrists across two regional hospitals in the Wide Bay region, with additional positions potentially available in the wider Wide Bay–Burnett area.

About the service

Our client is a Queensland Health–funded Hospital and Health Service delivering acute and community mental health care to a growing regional catchment. Positions sit within an established Mental Health and Specialised Services division operating across two regional public hospitals — a principal regional referral facility and a well-connected smaller regional hospital — supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team spanning inpatient, outpatient, community and hospital-in-the-home programs.

Your role

• Deliver expert psychiatric care to patients across inpatient, outpatient and hospital-in-the-home services
• Provide professional leadership within a well-resourced multidisciplinary mental health team
• Contribute to the training, education and supervision of junior medical staff and allied health colleagues
• Work across a genuine breadth of clinical presentations in a supportive regional environment
• Positions available at Senior Staff Specialist, Staff Specialist, or Senior Medical Officer level, dependent on experience and qualifications

Requirements

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Specialist Psychiatrist with AHPRA
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) for Staff Specialist and Senior Staff Specialist appointments
• Australian working rights, or eligibility for employer-sponsored visa
• Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and all standard Queensland Health pre-employment checks
• A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality psychiatric care in a regional public health setting
