Job summary

NAES is seeking an Auxiliary Plant Operator at Sandy Creek Energy Station, a 900‑MW coal-fired plant near Riesel, Texas. You will inspect and monitor equipment, log readings, and report abnormal conditions under the Shift Supervisor, ensuring safe and compliant plant operations.

The role emphasizes safety, LOTO practice, use of PPE, and coordination with maintenance teams; requires high school diploma and preferred associate degree in related field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in power plant technology or related field preferred.
• Experience in a power plant or industrial operating environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of plant equipment and systems including pumps, boilers, water treatment, ash handling and emission-control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
• Conduct routine inspections and report deficiencies.
• Monitor plant systems and record operating readings.
• Communicate abnormal conditions to Shift Supervisor and CRO.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment tagging/isolation.
