Firefly HR is partnering with an established early childhood service in Armidale to appoint an experienced Co-Director. Lead with energy, collaborate with the current Co-Director, and support the Owner to advance quality practice.

The role suits an experienced ECE leader seeking a long-term move with leadership autonomy, relocation assistance, and the chance to shape a thriving regional service.

And importantly, you won't be walking in to do it alone. You'll work alongside an amazing and experienced Co-Director, with a supportive and engaged Owner behind you.

They're looking for someone who can bring their own strengths, ideas and leadership style to an already quality service and help take it forward.

Armidale is a university city and the major hub of the New England High Country, known for its leafy streets, cafés and restaurants, cool-climate wineries, heritage architecture and four distinct seasons. Surrounding the city are national parks, waterfalls, hiking and some spectacular countryside.

And when you want the coast?

Coffs Harbour and the beaches of the Coffs Coast are around 2.5 hours away via Waterfall Way, one of NSW's great scenic drives through rainforest, national parks and waterfalls.

About the Role

As Co-Director, you'll share responsibility for leading the service while still having the autonomy to make decisions and take ownership of your role.

We're looking for someone who can see what needs doing and make it happen, but who also understands that great leadership is about bringing people with you.

You’ll help lead the team, strengthen culture, maintain quality practice, build relationships with children and families and work alongside your Co-Director to continue moving the service forward.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who brings energy, positivity and a strong work ethic to the people around them.

About You

You may already be a Centre Director looking for a fresh challenge, or an experienced ECE leader ready to step into your next leadership opportunity.

You’ll ideally be:

• An experienced and confident ECE leader

• Comfortable making decisions and working autonomously

Child Safeguarding

We're looking for an individual who understands, promotes and upholds the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. In this role, you'll help create an environment where children's safety and wellbeing are always the highest priority.

Child safeguarding methods include, but are not limited to:

• NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain


• Thorough screening


• Reference checks


• National criminal history check
