Job summary

AC Laser Cutting in Thomastown, Melbourne VIC is seeking experienced CNC Press Brake Operators for day and night shifts. You will set up, program and operate press brakes, read drawings, select tooling and ensure high-quality, precise bending of sheet metal.

We offer permanent full-time roles with a modern facility, competitive hourly rates, and an afternoon shift loading for night shifts. Immediate start for suitable applicants.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CNC press brake machines.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and bending processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Experience selecting tooling, setting up machines and performing quality checks.
• Confidence working independently and solving production issues.
• A high level of attention to detail, safety and workmanship.
• A current Australian forklift licence.
• Experience operating Bystronic press brakes will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press brake machines.
• Select appropriate tooling and determine bending sequences.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Program and operate press brakes, including Bystronic equipment where required.
• Complete first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Identify and troubleshoot bending or programming issues.
• Work independently to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
