ProQuest Recruitment & Training – Dandenong VIC is seeking an experienced CNC Brake Press Operator/Setter for a long-term casual position in Dandenong South. Responsibilities include setting up, operating and adjusting CNC brake press machinery, interpreting drawings, and ensuring high-quality bends and parts.

The role requires reading engineering specs, attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset. The position offers consistent hours across rostered days and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC brake press machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Understanding of metal fabrication, tooling and material thicknesses.
• Experience adjusting machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC brake press machinery to bend and form sheet metal components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, job orders and engineering specs.
• Determine bending sequences, dimensions and angles for accurate finished parts.
• Select tooling and adjust machine settings to suit material type and thickness.
• Perform tooling changes, machine adjustments and routine maintenance as required.
• Inspect finished components for quality and accuracy; minimise wastage.
• Maintain safe working practices and keep the workspace clean and hazard-free.
• Collaborate with production team to meet deadlines and assist with assembly when needed.
