Job summary

Voestalpine Railway Systems in Bathurst is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join the production team. Reporting to the Bathurst Production Manager, you will perform machining operations on CNC machines, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational procedures.

The successful candidate will hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade), have hands-on CNC experience in a high‑performance environment, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade) required.
• Experience operating CNC machines in a high-performance environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to complete Pre-Employment Medical including Drug & Alcohol Testing.

Reporting to the Bathurst Production Manager, the CNC Machinist is responsible for all machining operations.

Duties include:

• Performing operations on CNC machines
• Interpreting technical drawings for component specifications
• Ensuring compliance with all quality, safety, and operational procedures
• Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment

About You

To be successful in the CNC Machinist position with the voestalpine Railway Systems team, you will have:

• Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
• Experience operating CNC machines in a high-performance environment
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
