Synergie Group in Adelaide, SA, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, program and operate CNC horizontal boring mills and CNC milling machines to produce precision components for established clients across South Australia.

We value reliability and technical capability, with focus on reading drawings, selecting tooling, performing inspections, and maintaining safety and quality records in a supportive workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining or equivalent.
  • Experience operating CNC horizontal boring mills and/or CNC milling machines in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining and precision measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring mills and milling machines to produce precision-engineered components.
  • Select and install tooling, fixtures and work-holding equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Program machines and adjust to achieve required tolerances and finish.
  • Measure components using micrometres, verniers/callipers, gauges and other inspection tools.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning and basic servicing.
  • Identify machine issues and carry out minor troubleshooting and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection and quality records.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area.
  • Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet production schedules and quality requirements.

CNC Machinist – Horizontal Boring Mill / CNC Mills

Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join there manufacturing team in Adelaide. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work with precision machinery, producing high-quality components for established clients across South Australia.

You’ll be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC horizontal boring mills and CNC milling machines, ensuring every component is manufactured accurately and to the required specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring mills and milling machines to produce precision-engineered components.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.

About You

We’re looking for a reliable and technically capable machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

You will ideally have:

  • A recognised Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining, Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience operating CNC horizontal boring mills and/or CNC milling machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of CNC machining and precision measurement techniques.
  • Experience using micrometres, verniers/callipers, gauges and other inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic machine troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining tight tolerances.
  • The ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively to a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow procedures and instructions.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • A reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
