Job summary

MRAEL is recruiting a current Year 12 student for a full-time apprenticeship in CNC machining at a brand‑new workshop in Gillman, SA. You’ll join a national employer committed to real career pathways beyond your apprenticeship and be mentored through to trade completion.

Training includes setup and operation of CNC lathes/mills, manufacturing high‑precision components, and ongoing off‑the‑job training funded by a national organization. Applications welcome for Jan 2027 start.

Qualifications

• Current Year 12 student
• Certificate II in Engineering held or expected
• Exposure to CNC machining preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, programming, and operation of CNC lathes and/or mills
• Manufacture high-precision components
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic fault-finding
• Overhaul gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and driveshafts
• Dismantle, clean, measure and assess parts
• Support small machining jobs and general workshop activities
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and assist with deliveries
