Job summary

HeliMods is seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators on the Sunshine Coast to join our aerospace technology team. You will operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (HAAS VMC/UMC/Mill-Turn) and create basic programs, interfacing with advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies.

The role offers afternoon/evening shifts (12:00pm–10:00pm, Mon-Thu) and a pathway to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, optimise run times, and enhance part quality within a dynamic, security-sensitive

Qualifications

• Trade or industry qualification relevant to machining.
• 4+ years in aerospace, automotive or high-precision industries.
• 5+ years with HAAS or similar high-speed machining centres.
• Experience proving CAM and integrating with an engineering team.

The Opportunity

HeliMods are seeking talented CNC Machine Operators with a passion for technology, automation, and digital production to join our team.

The working hours for this role will be 12:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Thursday. With a three-day weekend every week, you can enjoy the perks of work-life balance without compromising your career growth!

You’ll be interfacing with advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies as HeliMods continues its evolution of advanced manufacturing.

In your role you will

• Create basic program and operate CNC routers.
• Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (including HAAS VMC/UMC/Mill-Turn machines).
• Drive best-practice within design for machined component manufacture and quality.
• Complete part conformity and verification.
• Own continuous improvement initiatives within machining to decrease run times, increase machine utilisation, and improve part quality.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Relevant trade or industry qualifications.
• 4+ years’ experience in the aerospace, automotive or other high precision industry desirable.
• 5+ years’ experience with HAAS or equivalent high-speed machining centres, including tooling and work holding desirable.
• Experience in proving CAM, 1st of type production, and integrating with an engineering team.

Inherent Requirements

• Due to the nature and privilege of information, and in accordance with Australian Standards for Workforce Screening (ISO *********), it is an inherent requirement that a security screening process (including a police check) are undertaken prior to employment.
• Applicants must be located in or willing to relocate to the Sunshine Coast.

HeliMods utilises afternoon rates and overtime rates for hours worked in excess of 38. We will provide an indication of approximate earnings with shortlisted candidates to ensure this aligns with their expectations.
