Job summary

HMG Hardchrome Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our Pinkenba workshop. You will program, set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture high‑quality hydraulic components to tight tolerances.

This hands-on role values precision, safety and continuous improvement within a dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a Certificate III Engineering (Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker) and proven CAM experience (Mastercam), plus hands-on FANUC and Okuma control

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (Certificate III Engineering) as a Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker.
• Demonstrated experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist.
• CAM experience, MasterCam highly desired.
• Hands-on experience with FANUC, Okuma control systems.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling and cutting parameters.
• Ability to read detailed drawings and tight tolerances.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out fitting, machining, and assembly work as required.
• Edit and optimise programs to improve cycle times and product quality.
• Conduct quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain machines, tooling and a safe, clean work area.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers and team members.

About the Role

In this role, you will program, set, and operate CNC machine tools to manufacture high-quality components to specification.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification (Certificate III Engineering) as a Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
• Demonstrate CAM experience, MasterCam high desired.
• Hands‑on experience with FANUC, Okuma control systems
