Sauls Bearings and Engineering in Burleigh Heads, QLD, seeks an experienced CNC Lathe and Mill Operator to interpret work orders and blueprints, set up machines, and program tools for precision machining. You will support on-site fabrication, repairs and custom components, adhering to QA and safety protocols.

The role requires proficiency with Mastercam and CNC Fanuc controllers, plus the ability to read engineering drawings and work with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Experience with operating CNC lathes and mills to interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proactive, reliable and physically fit with a strong work ethic.

Responsabilités

• Program and set up mills and lathes; configure tool offsets and calculate requirements.
• Monitor drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling and threading to Specifications.
• Detect malfunctions; troubleshoot; adjust and reprogram controls as needed.
• Sharpen and replace worn tools; follow QA procedures.
• Maintain safe operations and equipment by following WHS procedures and manufacturer specs.
• Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and on-site assembly/manufacture as required.
• Contribute to general labouring tasks.
• Follow all safety and environmental policies.

A CNC LATHE AND MILL OPERATOR role at Saul's Bearings, Engineering & Machine Shop, where you will be machining by interpreting work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications and machining parameters as required.

Key responsibilities

• Program and set up mills and lathes; setting tool registers, offsets, etc and calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
• Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations
• Detect malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls as required
• Sharpen and replace worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintain safe operations and equipment by adhering to safety procedures, regulations and following manufacturer's specifications
• Perform fault finding, diagnosis, design, assembly and manufacture on site as/when required
• Participate in general laboring tasks
• Abide by all WHS and environmental policies
• Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials
• Assist and support other staff as directed by management

About you

• Highly proficient with Mastercam software and CNC Fanuc controllers, allowing you to set up and execute jobs with minimal supervision
• Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Strong fitting knowledge
• Own tools
• Valid White Card
• Able to jump on a manual machine or handle welding when a job demands it
• Proactive, reliable, physically fit, and self-motivated
