Job summary

FindStaff's client, a leading supplier to the industrial, mining, food & beverage, and resources sectors across Australia, seeks skilled machinists to operate manual lathes, milling, slotting and shaping machines and to produce precision components from steel and other materials.

You will set up machinery, interpret drawings, measure to tight tolerances, and work with overhead cranes in a safe, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a heavy industrial machining environment.
• Proven experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
• Experience with manual slotting and shaping machines.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical schematics.
• Strong understanding of tooling selection, machine setup, speeds, feeds, and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances.
• Proficient in the use and calibration of precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Current National Police Check or willing to obtain one.
• Cylindrical/bore grinding experience would be highly advantageous.
• CNC machining experience.

About the Role

Hours

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am to 1:00pm.

Overtime available as workload requires.
