ProQuest Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Brake Press Operator / Setter to join our Dandenong South manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC brake press machinery, read technical drawings, select tooling and adjust settings to produce accurately formed components.

This long-term, ongoing casual role offers consistent full-time hours across the rostered days with a pay rate of $36.81 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC brake press machinery to bend and form sheet metal and components.

• Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments as required.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy, quality and consistency.
• Identify and correct issues to minimise waste and defects.
• Maintain safe operating practices and follow safety procedures.
• Keep work area clean and organized; work with production team to meet deadlines.
• Assist with assembly of components and finished products when required.

ProQuest Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced CNC Brake Press Operator / Setter to join a well-established manufacturing business located in Dandenong South. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on, mechanically minded operator with experience setting up and operating CNC brake press machinery. The successful candidate will be confident reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting the correct tooling and machine settings, and producing accurately formed metal components to meet production requirements. Offering long-term, ongoing work with consistent full-time casual hours, this role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, values attention to detail and enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and operating CNC brake press machinery to bend and form sheet metal and metal components.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, engineering specifications and job orders.
• Determining bending sequences, dimensions and angles to ensure accurate finished products.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting machine settings to suit material type and thickness.
• Performing tooling changes and machine adjustments as required.
• Inspecting finished components for accuracy, quality and consistency.
• Identifying and correcting issues to minimise material wastage and incorrectly formed parts.
• Maintaining safe operating practices and following all workplace safety procedures.
• Keeping your work area clean, organised and free from hazards.
• Working collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and production targets.
• Assisting with the assembly of components and finished products when required.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC brake press machinery.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications confidently.
• A sound understanding of metal fabrication, tooling and material thicknesses.
• Experience adjusting machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.li>
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• The physical capability to handle metal components and perform repetitive manual tasks.

Experience with Cybelec CNC controllers will be highly regarded.

Hours and Pay

• Pay rate: $36.81 per hour
• Monday: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
• Tuesday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Employment type: Long-term, ongoing casual position with full-time hours across the rostered working days
• Location: Dandenong South, VIC
