Job summary

Ampersand in Brisbane is seeking a Cloud Team Lead to manage and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers in a hands-on leadership role. You will act as the senior technical escalation point and drive delivery across AWS and on-prem Microsoft environments.

This permanent Brisbane position offers a hybrid working arrangement and the chance to shape the Cloud Practice through standards, capability roadmaps and delivery approaches as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS experience across networking, IAM, landing zones and Well-Architected principles.
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Active Directory, virtualization, and hybrid environments.
• Experience in a Managed Services/MSP environment.
• Experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong incident, escalation and problem management experience.
• Understanding of SLAs, operational delivery and service quality.
• Ability to stay technically involved while providing people leadership.
• Continuous improvement mindset with interest in developing Cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Cloud Engineers and Senior Cloud Engineers.
• Act as the L4 escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents.
• Provide technical leadership across AWS and on-prem Microsoft environments.
• Support SLA, incident and backlog management.
• Review complex technical work, changes and RCA.
• Drive continuous improvement across service delivery and operational processes.
• Identify capability gaps and support training and certification plans.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery and Customer Success on client escalations.
• Contribute to Cloud standards, reference architectures and delivery practices.
• Help shape and develop the wider Cloud Practice as it grows.
