Job summary

Iterate in Sydney/Melbourne is seeking a Contract Lead Software Engineer to own end-to-end cloud-based solutions. The role blends hands-on coding with problem discovery, design, and mentoring a junior developer through delivery.

You will diagnose defects across large systems, build on AWS, and drive standards. If you excel at turning complex issues into actionable tasks and communicating with stakeholders, this contract could be a fit.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating complex software in AWS.
• Strong fundamentals with Git, GitHub Actions and IDE workflow.
• Ability to diagnose production issues and explain core concepts to non-engineers.
• Experience or familiarity with AWS IoT Greengrass is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects and problems across large, complex, integrated systems, not just fixed flags.
• Design and build cloud-based software components on AWS, end to end.
• Break complex work into clear, actionable tasks and mentor juniors through delivery (including code reviews).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape solutions and secure leadership endorsement.
