Job summary

Building and Plumbing Commission in Melbourne is seeking a Cloud & Systems Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on supporting a modern hybrid environment spanning AWS, Azure, and on-premises infrastructure.

You will administer cloud platforms, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Intune, and Teams, ensuring reliability, security and performance. You will monitor systems, patch and backup management, handle incidents, and drive improvements across the IT

Building and Plumbing Commission – Melbourne VIC

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud & Systems Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in a full-time, ongoing position. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and enhancing a modern hybrid technology environment that spans AWS, Azure, and on-premises infrastructure.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimisation of critical cloud and infrastructure platforms that enable the organisation to deliver essential services. You will contribute to system reliability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, resource provisioning, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role also provides broad exposure across a diverse technology landscape, including Hyper-V virtualisation, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Teams, offering opportunities to further develop your technical expertise while working with contemporary cloud and enterprise technologies.

This position is ideal for an infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to the evolution of a secure, resilient, and high-performing IT environment. What we are looking for:

• Experience supporting and administering Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, including core cloud infrastructure and platform services.


• Poven experience managing Hyper‑V environments, virtual machines, and supporting on‑premises server infrastructure.


• Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Teams administration within an enterprise environment.


• Demonstrated experience in system monitoring, patching, backup management, incident resolution, and maintaining reliable IT services.


• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, prioritise workloads, and identify opportunities to improve operational processes.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly, build effective working relationships, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
