Job summary

Talent International in Geelong is seeking a Security Operations Lead to establish and mature the security operations capability during a major Azure-based transformation for a large government body. This role focuses on building the people, processes, and governance needed to strengthen cyber resilience and enable scalable growth.

You will implement monitoring, incident response, and governance, drive adoption of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, and coordinate with internal teams and partners

Qualifications

• Experience leading security operations in large enterprise environments.
• Strong Azure security expertise and knowledge of Microsoft security technologies.
• Familiarity with VPDSF and Essential Eight frameworks is highly regarded.

• Drive operational adoption of Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Azure security services.
• Define responsibilities, escalation pathways and service coordination across internal teams and managed service providers.

• Lead incident coordination and continuous improvement.

Skills and experience

• Experience as a Security Operations Lead, SOC Manager, Cyber Defence Lead, Incident Response Lead or similar.
• A track record of building or maturing security operations capabilities in complex enterprise environments.
• Practical Azure experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies.
• Confidence leading incident response and working across technical teams, delivery partners and senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with VPDSF and Essential Eight frameworks is highly regarded.
